Hiking
Situated in the heart of the Zillertal Alps, Mayrhofen offers numerous possibilities for hiking and trekking. In an area of over 370 square kilometres you will find routes covering all levels of difficulty; whether it's an easy walk in Scheulingwald forest or a difficult tour up to 3,500 metres, there is something for everyone.
Mountain Biking in Zillertal
Mayrhofen has become something of a mountain-biking mecca in recent years. There is a wide choice of mountain bike trails to suit all levels and abilities. And there are also easier cycleways of course. 800 km of cycle trails for the young and the young at heart! There are also good local cycle repair and cycle hire shops.
Via Ferrata
Climbing has become very popular in Zillertal in recent years, which is why many new via ferrata - climbing routes equipped with fixed ladders, cables and bridges - have been set up. There are now numerous via ferrata of varying difficulty.
Musical Events
Many already know that Zillertal is the liveliest valley for music in Tyrol; and that there are musical events such as open-air concerts and folk music festivals throughout the year. Music lovers will be delighted by the daily performances given by well-known local music groups at various different locations.
